Grab your flashlights and lock the doors, because spooky season is officially here. Amazon has confirmed its October 2026 slate of "free" PC games for Prime subscribers, available to claim until specific dates throughout the month, dropping a massive wave of horror and action titles that you can claim and keep forever.

Unlike competing services like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Game Pass—where your library vanishes the second your subscription lapses—Amazon's setup gives you actual codes for launchers like GOG and the Epic Games Store. According to Amazon, these titles are yours to keep permanently, even if you cancel your Prime membership. This month’s rollout is staggered throughout October, starting immediately with some absolute heavyweights.
Right out of the gate, subscribers can grab the relentless demon-shredding action of DOOM (2016) via GOG, alongside the retro-horror nightmare of Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit on the Epic Games Store. If you've been waiting for a reason to dive back into Freddy Fazbear's terrifying lore, this is it.
The rest of the month follows a weekly release schedule packed with sci-fi tension, gothic dread, and quirky indies.
The details
If your hard drive is already crying for mercy, Amazon is also adding new titles to its Luna Standard streaming tier. According to Amazon, the Luna Standard membership is included with Prime and includes more than 80 games to stream.
Two highly anticipated additions are hitting the streaming rotation this month: Star Wars: Galactic Racer and Sonic X Shadow Generations. If you prefer your frights in the form of high-speed blue hedgehogs or intense podracing, Luna has you covered.
Before you completely lose yourself in the October offerings, don't forget that September’s titles are starting to disappear. You still have a brief window to claim masterpieces like Botany Manor until October 14, 2026, Doom Eternal and Rims Racing until October 21, 2026, and High on Life until October 28, 2026 before they go dark. Claim them now, and they'll stay in your library forever.
Is October's Prime Gaming lineup a cop or a drop?
