Atmosfar: Airborne Co-op Survival Game Sets October Early Access Date

Prepare to take to the skies with three of your bravest (or most easily panicked) co-op partners. Developer Apog has officially locked in an October 29 launch date for its airborne open-world survival game Atmosfar on Steam Early Access, accompanied by a brand-new gameplay trailer showing off its beautiful, cloud-streaked alien world.

The announcement highlights your mission to uncover the fate of humanity's final outpost on an alien planet. To do that, you'll need a proper fleet. The developers confirmed on Steam that players will pilot two main classes of aircraft: agile "Wasp" hovercars and a massive, mobile "Cloud Cruiser" base. If you ever spent your Subnautica days obsessing over the perfect docking dance between a Seamoth and a Cyclops, this looks like it will capture that exact brand of cozy-but-dangerous vehicle synergy.

According to the Steam update, the Wasp comes in three distinct, utility-focused flavors at launch: Utility, Cargo, and Striker. "Deploy a foldable camp with the Utility Wasp, airlift heavy scrap with the Cargo Wasp or stun your enemies with the Striker Wasp," the studio explained. You'll dock these smaller vehicles directly onto your massive Cloud Cruiser, which serves as a mobile home base complete with landing pads, a hangar, and a lounge for hanging out between flights.
