BlizzCon 2026 Returns to Anaheim September 12–13 — and It's Free to Stream

BlizzCon is back, and this time it's physical again. Blizzard confirmed on the Official Xbox Podcast that BlizzCon 2026 runs Saturday, September 12 and Sunday, September 13 at the Anaheim Convention Center — the first in-person edition since 2023. The whole broadcast goes online for free, no ticket required, which is a notable move for a show that used to sit behind a badge.

How to watch BlizzCon 2026 (free, no pass)

Every bit of the broadcast is free — no pass, no catch. Blizzard streams it across its official Warcraft, Diablo, and Overwatch channels on YouTube and Twitch. The opening ceremony kicks off Saturday, September 12 at 10:30 AM Pacific, and it doesn't really stop until Sunday at 7 PM Pacific — 117-plus hours if you're keeping count, and someone will be. Watching participating streams also earns in-game Drops, which vary by game, stream, and platform. Blizzard put out a Viewer's Guide and a full schedule so nobody has to guess when their thing is on.

What's on the show floor

Darkmoon Faire is back and bigger than 2023 — 70,000-plus square feet on the North Hall's second level, the largest one Blizzard's ever built, now with a duck pond you can fish in. It's fake fishing, to be clear. The usual suspects return too: pet adoption, the Trading Post, Toy Capsule Depot, pin trading, and the limited-edition stuff people line up for. The Hearthstone Tavern comes back with the Artist Nook and a 360-degree mocktail bar, and the Blizzard Arcade sets up a retro corner of StarCraft, Heroes of the Storm, and Blizzard Arcade Collection titles. There are more than 1,300 playable demo stations on the floor. For the 35th anniversary, the archives team is hauling out a long table of retro Blizzard artifacts spanning 35 years — the first time it's left the vault.

The main stage and panels

The main stage moves to Hall D, the biggest room in the building, seating more than 7,500 people for the moments that matter. Programming spreads across six stages over two days: What's Next panels, Deep Dives, developer talks on art, cinematics, and sound, and cosplay contests. Community Night on Saturday evening runs art, short film, talent, and cosplay competitions plus a cosplay exhibition — with the cosplay contest hosted by Darin De Paul, the voice of Overwatch's Reinhardt.

Esports: Overwatch World Cup, WoW, Hearthstone, and a first-ever Classic Cup

Five esports programs run at once, splitting a prize pool north of $1.2 million. The Overwatch World Cup heads back into the arena; World of Warcraft brings the Arena World Championship and the Mythic Dungeon International; Hearthstone holds its Masters Tour World Championship. The new one is the Classic Cup — a point-based showcase captained by Tasteless and Artosis, stacked with StarCraft legends including Hall of Famers BoxeR and Nal_rA. Yes, that Classic.

The March of the Murlocs

The March of the Murlocs returns for a fifth year on Sunday, September 13. Roughly 4,000 people gather in the Arena Plaza at 11:45 AM, and at noon the conch is blown — an actual line in the actual production plan. This year's official murloc color is emerald green, so start sewing. The Hell's Ink tattoo parlor is back for anyone who wants to commit, and meet-and-greets run across three halls both days with developers, creators, esports players, and cosplayers.

Why it matters

BlizzCon coming back in the flesh is a bet on the physical convention at a point where most publishers have swapped the show floor for a pre-recorded stream. Blizzard is building 2026 around anniversary milestones for Blizzard, Diablo, Overwatch, and Battle.net, and expects around 37,000 people on site. It didn't say what's actually getting announced — that part they're keeping quiet — but putting the whole weekend online for free points at the widest audience they can get.
