BloomKeeper: Tactical Co-Op Adventure Launches Today on Steam

Developer Resonance Interactive has launched its real-time tactical adventure BloomKeeper today on Steam, tasking players with restoring the ash-devastated island of Hedera. Players must guide a colony of small, fragile creatures called Pouics through scorched landscapes, balancing environmental restoration with colony defense.

In the studio's official launch announcement, Valentin Livi, Creative Director at Resonance Interactive, stated: "With BloomKeeper, we wanted restoration to feel like an active part of the challenge, where bringing nature back and protecting the Pouics are directly tied to the decisions players make."

To accompany the launch, the developer released a new trailer showcasing the game's core loop, which can be played solo or in cooperative play with up to four players. The challenge lies in balancing forward progress with protecting already reclaimed territory from an encroaching, dynamic corruption.

The central mechanical twist of BloomKeeper lies in the fragile nature of your colony. The Pouics are essential for gathering resources and carving out safe paths, but managing a larger colony increases the complexity. When environmental hazards or spreading ash scatter the group, the consequences are steep.

If a Pouic is lost to the corruption, it transforms into a hostile creature known as a Malpouic. Yes, they literally turn into monsters that hunt you and rot the land. I am absolutely obsessed with this mechanic—it adds a wonderfully dark, stressful edge to what looks like a cozy plant game. These corrupted variants actively accelerate the spread of scorched zones, turning a simple management mistake into a cascading threat that forces players to adapt to a changing battlefield.
