Namco’s 1995 arcade motorcycle racer Cyber Cycles is finally making its home console debut, more than thirty years after it first began eating quarters. Publisher Hamster is bringing the obscure polygonal racer to modern screens under its Arcade Archives banner, giving home players their first crack at a game that has spent decades locked inside original cabinet hardware.
According to Hamster, the game will be introduced on specified platforms with designated release dates. It marks a moment for arcade history, reviving a footnote from the mid-90s 3D transition era when polygon counts were low, colors were loud, and motorcycle physics were an optimistic suggestion.
Arcade Archives CYBER CYCLES is scheduled for release on August 20, 2026, for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Arcade Archives 2 CYBER CYCLES is scheduled for release on August 20, 2026, for Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5.
The details
For decades, the only way to experience the high-speed polygonal curves of Cyber Cycles was to find a dusty cabinet in the wild. Soon, a controller will suffice.
