Psikyo Memories: Edia Announces 1990s Arcade Shmup Collection for PS5 and Switch 2

Japanese publisher Edia has announced Psikyo Memories, a compilation of classic 1990s arcade shoot 'em ups slated to hit PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 in 2027. The announcement, revealed via the "Edia Game Catalog" distributed at Tokyo Game Show 2026, sets a release window that gives players plenty of time to stretch their wrists before the quarter-munchers return.

According to the publisher, the upcoming compilation will preserve "the frenzy and signature high-speed action of the originals," highlighting a library of titles from the developer that spent the 1990s dominating the arcade scene.

The compilation is part of a broader retro preservation push from Edia, which also announced a Toshinden Collection for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and PC. However, the rollout has already presented a minor platform puzzle. While Strikers 1945 is currently playable on a PC on the Tokyo Game Show floor, PC is not listed as an official release platform for the final Psikyo Memories package.
