Epic Games Store: Astrea and Mechabellum Go Free

The Epic Games Store has made tactical games Astrea: Six-Side Oracles and Mechabellum free to claim until Thursday, October 5, the storefront announced. The offer continues Epic's promotion where the only entry requirement is a digital account.

According to Epic's storefront rules, games claimed during this weekly window remain in the player's library permanently. The collection can grow one Thursday at a time.

Astrea: Six-Side Oracles is a deck-building roguelike that swaps traditional cards for customizable dice, featuring what the developer describes as a "unique dual 'damage' system" of Purification and Corruption. "Purification can be used to damage enemies or heal yourself," the game's description reads, while corruption can "damage yourself or heal the enemies." Players must balance these mechanics to pacify opponents or unleash high-risk abilities.

Alongside it, Mechabellum offers a different style of strategy as a 3D "epic mech auto-battler." The game focuses on unit placement and preparation rather than real-time reflexes, emphasizing "all strategy, no clickfest" across its 1v1, 2v2, free-for-all, and Survival modes.

Both games are available for free until 8am PT / 11am ET / 4pm BST on October 5, when they will be replaced by Buried Stars and System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster.
