GOG has marked down these specific Square Enix RPGs through October 18, 2026.
Get it on GOG →Square Enix's Octopath Traveler and Octopath Traveler II arrived on GOG on October 8, 2026, and both are launching with steep discounts that run until October 18. The original Octopath Traveler is 70% off, while its 2023 sequel is 60% off.
Both games join the GOG Preservation Program, GOG's initiative to keep older PC releases working on modern systems. GOG's changelogs note the first game is verified on Windows 10 and 11, with modern controller support and stability fixes for both. And because it's GOG, both are DRM-free: you download the installers and keep them, no launcher check-in required.
The Octopath games have been discounted on other storefronts before, but this is their first time on GOG. For players who'd rather own the files outright, a launch-week discount is about as good an entry point as these HD-2D RPGs get.
The details
After October 18, both games return to full price. Which means you have until then to decide if you actually have eighty hours to spare, or if you just like watching the download bar move.
