Sony Reveals Two Limited-Edition GTA 6 PS5 Controllers

Sony has revealed two limited-edition Grand Theft Auto VI DualSense wireless controllers, scheduled to launch alongside the game on November 19, the company announced during Thursday's State of Play. It seems the road to Vice City is paved with custom plastic, which is at least easier to clean than the actual streets.

"Vice City’s unmistakable style comes to life in these two new limited-edition DualSense wireless controller designs," said Isabelle Tomatis, Vice President of Global Marketing at Sony Interactive Entertainment.

The controllers are designed to match the neon aesthetic of the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI, which takes players back to the fictional state of Leonida. For a game of this scale, tie-in hardware is practically a tradition, serving as a physical keepsake for an experience that has spent years as a mere rumor on the internet.

What they look like

Both controllers feature a color-shifting finish meant to mimic a Vice City sunset and the glow of neon streetlights. According to Sony, the gamepads also feature custom palm tree details molded directly into the plastic grips to add a tactile feel, alongside official Grand Theft Auto VI branding on the touchpads.

The White Limited Edition represents "Vice City at daybreak" with its pastel hues and will be sold at direct.playstation.com and participating global retailers. The Black Limited Edition, aiming for the city's nightlife energy, is a bit more exclusive—sold only through direct.playstation.com in supported regions, and via select retailers elsewhere.

How they play

On the technical side, the controllers are standard DualSense units, utilizing haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to translate the in-game action. Sony says the adaptive triggers will provide dynamic resistance as players guide protagonists Jason and Lucia through their criminal exploits.

Pre-orders on Sony's official storefront will qualify for free launch-day delivery, according to the announcement.
