'The quickest route from tyranny to Liberty is one straight line of righteous operational advancement,' wrote Arrowhead's Mitchell Ayre in the official announcement. In a universe where gear is continually tested by its environment, that advancement arrives in the form of heavier plating and specialized crowd-control options.
The details
The update focuses on high-impact weaponry designed to resolve battlefield disputes with minimal subtlety. The primary weapon slots feature the AR-11 Arbitrator, an assault rifle utilizing a caseless ammunition firing mechanism paired with an underslung shotgun, and the GL-15 Evictor, a pump-action grenade launcher that trades aiming precision for raw explosive coverage. For a sidearm, players can unlock the P-34 Breacher, a missile-firing pistol that utilizes sticky, phosphorus-fueled projectiles to burn through heavy armor.
Defensively, the Warbond introduces the new Blunt-Force Mitigation armor passive across its featured suits. This passive increases the player's overall armor rating, makes them more resistant to being knocked down, and cuts impact and collision damage by 30%. It is built into the lightweight BFM-16 Tanker suit—which includes acoustic dampeners to filter out the noise of battle—and the BFM-220 Ironclad, a heavy suit forged from surplus vehicle hull plating.
Because fire is a frequent byproduct of combat scenarios, the Warbond addresses safety concerns with specialized utility items. The G-8 Immolation throwable creates a sweeping blanket of flame, while the G-60 Anti-Tank Seeker is a smart grenade drone that tracks player movements before locking onto and detonating against nearby enemy vehicles.
To keep those tools from decimating your own ranks, the Integrated Extinguishers booster reduces the time it takes to put out flames when players accidentally set their teammates on fire. Additionally, the Surplus EAT Allocation booster grants two free uses of the Expendable Anti-Tank Stratagem per mission, giving entire squads quick access to heavy rocket launchers under standard distribution rules.
Customization options include the Standard of Rapid Evacuation cape, designed to stay clear of heavy vehicle treads, and the Shroud of The Juggernaut camouflage cape, which features a classified Morse code message. The pack also adds the 'Treadhead' title, a 'Helmet Durability Check' emote, and three premium tank-exclusive patterns: Verdant camouflage, Glacial polymer, and Executive onyx.
Helldivers 2 is currently available on the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog.
