Nioh 3: Hell Rising Expansion Launches on August 19

Team Ninja has released the first major story expansion for Nioh 3, titled Hell Rising, launching on August 19, 2026. It is the first major narrative addition to the action-RPG, steering the historical fantasy into a chaotic post-shogun era. For players who thought they had finally cleared their plate of supernatural threats, the buffet is officially back open.

The expansion takes place in 1651 during the historical Keian era following the death of shogun Takechiyo, according to Team Ninja. This historical backdrop provides the stage for a brand-new map, dropping players into a period of transition and political unrest. It's a classic setup for the series: a real-world power vacuum filled immediately with fictional monsters.

Along with the fresh scenery, the DLC pack introduces new enemy types to test players' patience and a suite of new weapon options to help even the odds.
