NIS America: Astonishia Story and Grimm Reapress Headed West in 2027

NIS America will release both The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster and a remaster of Astonishia Story worldwide in 2027, the publisher announced during PAX West 2026. Because apparently, planning your gaming calendar an entire year in advance is no longer considered keeping ahead of the curve. Both titles are headed to the Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and PC.

The classic tactical RPG Astonishia Story is scheduled to land first on February 11, 2027, according to the publisher. If the name rings a distant bell, you likely owned a PSP or a PC in the mid-2000s, which was the last time this particular adventure made its rounds in the West. This updated version follows the knight Lloyd and his companion Ylenne on a quest to save their world, featuring improved visuals, modern adjustments, and a physical Special Edition packed with art cards, an acrylic keychain, and a soundtrack.

Meanwhile, The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster will launch later in 2027. The title follows the monochromatic, hand-drawn tradition of games like The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince. Players control a girl named Mono who must venture into a library dungeon alongside a monster named Mar to save her sister from turning into a book—an affliction that makes standard library late fees look remarkably benign.
