No Rest for the Wicked Sets March 2027 Launch and Overhauls Class System

Moon Studios has locked in a March 2027 release window for version 1.0 of No Rest for the Wicked on PC via Steam and PlayStation 5, accompanied by a complete overhaul of its progression mechanics. Unveiled during the latest Wicked Inside showcase, the dark fantasy ARPG is throwing out traditional stat-gating in favor of 24 dynamic, weapon-swappable classes.

According to Moon Studios, the shift away from rigid attribute allocation is meant to dramatically broaden build variety across Isola Sacra. The developer confirmed that while PC and PS5 players will get the full 1.0 launch first in March 2027, versions for Xbox Series and Switch 2 remain planned for a later date.

The details

  • Release Window: March 2027 for PC (Steam) and PlayStation 5; Xbox Series and Switch 2 will follow at a later date.
  • Current Status: Available now in Early Access on PC.
  • Class System: Replaces static attributes with 24 classes tied directly to equipped weapons, featuring 362 mix-and-match traits.
  • Faction Updates: Introduces new factions that let players experience Isola Sacra's world from alternate perspectives.

How the 24-class system works

The standout reveal from the Wicked Inside broadcast is a complete reimagining of how players define their characters. Rather than funneling stats into fixed archetypes, progression in version 1.0 is tied directly to the gear in your hands. Simply equipping a weapon transforms your character into one of 24 distinct classes.

The studio revealed that the new system features 362 unique traits spread across those 24 classes, and trait slots can be customized by carrying skills over from other disciplines. During the showcase, Moon Studios demonstrated hybrid builds like raining electrified spears like arrows, executing stealth maneuvers to end encounters before they start, and stacking cross-class synergies to maximize damage output. Equipping new weapons continuously expands available trait combinations, giving every piece of loot immediate tactical value.

What else is coming to Isola Sacra

Beyond combat builds, Moon Studios detailed new faction systems that will allow players to align with different groups inhabiting Isola Sacra. Joining a faction provides a new lens on the island's grim lore and narrative, giving players distinct vantage points on the overarching story.

The showcase also highlighted broader refinements targeting core ARPG mechanics, from encounter pacing to gear synergy crafting. No Rest for the Wicked remains in Early Access on PC while these systems undergo refinement ahead of the March 2027 release.

Why it matters

The transition to a gear-driven class architecture marks a fundamental pivot for No Rest for the Wicked ahead of its 1.0 launch. By replacing restrictive stat requirements with 362 transferable traits, Moon Studios is shifting the game's core focus toward build experimentation. Splitting the platform rollout across 2027 gives the studio time to stabilize its console ports while delivering the full version to PC and PS5 players first.
