Sony Interactive Entertainment announced its October 2026 PlayStation Plus Game Catalog additions, bringing four-player co-op shooter Mycopunk to the service as a day-one release alongside Mafia: The Old Country and Horizon Forbidden West. The main wave of catalog additions launches on October 20, padding out library options right as autumn gaming backlogs begin their annual expansion.

Writing for the PlayStation Blog, Adam Michel, Senior Director of Content Acquisition & Operations at SIE, detailed the multi-tiered drop, which mixes tactical mob action, sci-fi sequels, and a fresh push into PlayStation VR2 territory.
The details
Leading the fresh software additions is Mycopunk, a hyper-customizable, mission-based looter shooter arriving day one on October 20 worldwide. The title drops four-player teams into planet-side missions fighting fungal alien outbreaks under the employment of the SAXON corporation.
For narrative action fans, Mafia: The Old Country takes the service into early 20th-century Sicily, detailing the origins of organized crime through protagonist Enzo Favara. Aloy’s post-apocalyptic open-world adventure Horizon Forbidden West also makes a re-release return to the tier, while clay-sculpted stop-motion dark fantasy The Midnight Walk debuts with PS VR2 support on October 14 in Western territories and October 15 in Japan.
Rounding out the monthly rotation on October 27 are Tales of Arise – Beyond the Dawn Edition, Monster Energy Supercross 25 – The Official Video Game, and episodic horror entry Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2.
Subscribers on the top-tier PlayStation Plus Premium plan receive two additions focused on turn-of-the-century nostalgia. Capcom's PlayStation classic Dino Crisis 2 makes its modern hardware appearance on PS4 and PS5, shifting series protagonists Regina and Dylan from claustrophobic research bases into open Cretaceous jungles stocked with more than ten distinct dinosaur species.
Alongside Capcom's prehistoric survival shooter, Frontier Developments' management sim RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 Complete Edition joins the Premium catalog. Sony noted that the lineup drops coincide with Halloween seasonal events under its platform-wide Horrorfest branding.
Subscription tier retention relies on a rotating blend of high-profile catalog backlists, retro nostalgia plays, and immediate day-one launches. By placing retro classic revivals like Dino Crisis 2 alongside new multi-platform releases like Mycopunk, Sony maintains incentive structures across both high-tier Premium subscribers looking for legacy preservation and standard Extra members seeking new catalog arrivals without paying standalone retail prices.
