Capcom is reportedly developing a standalone story expansion for a rumoured Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake, according to details shared by leaker Dusk Golem. If true, it marks a rare detour for a publisher that usually considers a remake finished the second the base game hits store shelves.
Writing on X, Dusk Golem reported that development studios M-Two and K2 are handling the project's post-launch content. "I've only heard about one story DLC for Requiem & one story DLC for Veronica," Dusk Golem posted, adding that both expansions are "being made to be a few hours long up the alley of Separate Ways & Shadow of Rose."
Outside of Resident Evil 4, Capcom has abstained from releasing dedicated story expansions for its modern remakes. Separate Ways was the exception, largely because Ada Wong's sub-campaign was already a core component of the original 2005 release's legacy. Building a brand-new story expansion for Code: Veronica would signal a change in how Capcom handles its remake pipeline.
The details
Capcom has not officially announced a Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake or any companion expansions.
If Code: Veronica gets a multi-hour story DLC, whose perspective should it follow?
