Insomniac Games has released a new update for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 that makes player-requested visual changes to the "Brand New Day" cosmetic suit, the developer confirmed. It is a swift response to an audience that took one look at the new threads and decided they were not, in fact, ready for a brand new day.
The patch addresses community backlash that arose immediately after the suit was introduced to the game, according to Insomniac. Adjusting a digital outfit after it has already gone live is the modern equivalent of a tailor chasing a client down the street with a needle and thread. However, in the current landscape, cosmetic surgery on digital spandex has become a standard customer service function.
The details
- Target: The "Brand New Day" cosmetic suit
- Nature of update: Key visual tweaks based on player feedback
- Developer: Insomniac Games
With the visual tweaks now live, players can swing through New York without the aesthetic distraction. It is proof that in the modern ecosystem, even a superhero's wardrobe is subject to a public committee review.
