Flyway Games has confirmed that Waltz and Jam will launch on December 3, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The announcement came during the Triple-I Initiative Showcase in October 2026, giving the cutesy, afterlife-themed adventure a definitive place on the winter calendar. It turns out even the Great Beyond operates on a strict Q4 release schedule.
The studio also released a playable demo on Steam alongside the announcement. For those who prefer to try before they die, the trial offers a first look at the game's hand-drawn, top-down world.
According to Flyway Games' official press release, the story centers on Waltz, a memory-wiped ghost wandering a mysterious afterlife called Downtown. To pass through the Gate of Judgment, players must collect seven stamps by exploring seven distinct chapters, each themed around one of the Seven Deadly Sins. It's a journey that apparently requires some heavy lifting from a spirit puppy named Jam, whose evolving abilities are mandatory for solving environmental puzzles and surviving boss fights.
The details
At least the afterlife has a clear roadmap, which is more than can be said for most modern commutes.
