Black Flag Resynced Finally Lets You Hide Edward's Blowpipe

Ubisoft has released Update 1.0.6 for Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, introducing a highly requested cosmetic toggle that finally lets players hide Edward Kenway’s blowpipe. It turns out that after ten years of plundering the Caribbean, the greatest threat to a pirate's reputation wasn't the Royal Navy, but an unwanted accessory cluttering his outfit.

According to the studio, the patch addresses a long-running fashion grievance from players who felt the weapon ruined the clean lines of Edward's pirate garb. While the change itself is purely cosmetic, the digital heavy lifting required to vanish a wooden pipe varies wildly depending on where you play. Steam players only need to clear 1.8GB of space, while Xbox Series X|S players are looking at a massive 15.2GB download to achieve the same minimalist look. It is a substantial amount of bandwidth for a minor wardrobe adjustment, akin to remodeling the entire house just to take down a single coat rack.

The details

  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
  • Patch version: Update 1.0.6
  • File sizes: 1.8GB on Steam, up to 15.2GB on Xbox consoles

Now, players can sail the Jackdaw with their aesthetic dignity intact, even if their console's hard drive has to take a heavy hit just to let Edward breathe a little easier.
