Dragon's Dogma 2 is Getting a Dedicated Hard Mode

Dragon's Dogma 2 is getting an official 'Hard Mode' to challenge high-level players, Capcom has confirmed. For an audience currently steamrolling massive monsters with endgame gear, the fantasy vacation is about to get significantly more expensive.

Producer Naoto Oyama and director Kento Kinoshita confirmed that the studio is actively developing the dedicated challenge option. The mode is designed specifically to test those who have already reached the game's level cap and found themselves with very little left to fear in the wilderness. It is the virtual equivalent of signing up for a marathon because your morning stroll started feeling a bit too peaceful.

According to the developers, the challenge setting will ship alongside features for the upcoming Dark Arisen DLC expansion.

The details

  • What's coming: A dedicated Hard Mode difficulty setting
  • Target audience: High-level players who have reached the level cap
  • Release timing: Launching alongside features for the Dark Arisen DLC

Until the update arrives, the local griffin population will just have to endure being pushed over in single combat by anyone with a max-level pawn.
