Nintendo has launched the final Anniversary Tour for its free-to-play mobile game Mario Kart Tour, marking the last major celebration before the game permanently shuts down on September 30, 2026. It is a long, slow deceleration for a game that is spending its remaining years repeating past content.

"The Sundae Tour is wrapping up, and next up is the Anniversary Tour!" Nintendo announced, inviting players to celebrate as the company expresses its gratitude for their time with the game.
