ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet Celebrates Launch With a Real-World Sanji Feast

Bandai Namco is celebrating the launch of ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet — out since October 23 on Nintendo Switch 2, Switch, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android — by putting a real chef through four of Sanji's most famous dishes, per the publisher. Consider it a warm-up shift before players report for duty as rookie staff aboard the Baratie Number Two.

The web series, "Teach me, Tori — A Feast Inspired by ONE PIECE," has Chef David, with help from Tori, cooking real-world versions of dishes from One Piece: Pirate Recipes by Sanji. Bandai Namco is upfront that the recipes don't reflect the in-game ones; each dish instead maps to one of the restaurant sim's systems.

The details

  • Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), iOS, Android
  • Released: October 23, 2026
  • Key features: 400+ characters, 200+ furniture and decor pieces, fully custom meal sets

What was on the menu?

  • Sanji's Pilaf (East Blue Arc): the dish Sanji serves a starving Gin at the Baratie, rebuilt with rice, corned beef, mushrooms, and eggs. It stands in for the game's core loop of discovering ingredients and developing recipes, with characters chiming in with suggestions.
  • Stone Stew (Sky Island Arc): cooked with hot stones while the crew searched for Shandora on limited supplies; Chef David browns pork and simmers it in red wine, raisins, and ketchup. It pairs with the decor system's 200-plus arc-inspired pieces.
  • Meat on the Bone: Luffy's victory meal, made with ground chicken, egg, and chicken drumsticks — the stand-in for the 400-plus characters who can visit and become regulars.
  • Fruit Macedonia (East Blue Arc): Sanji's apology dessert to Nami after she got caught in his argument with Zeff, matched to the game's meal-set customization down to the food, dishes, utensils, and trays.

How the restaurant sim works

Players run the Baratie Number Two alongside the Straw Hat Crew, designing meal sets and dining layouts to draw guests from nearly every arc of the series. Keep standards high and visitors become regulars, unlocking new interactions — and Devil Fruit users can lend their abilities in the kitchen to create special dishes.

Why it matters

Anime licenses usually default to arena fighters and action games, which makes a cooking-and-management sim a genuine detour for One Piece. Pairing low-stakes restaurant design with a 400-character crossover roster gives fans a sandbox built around presentation instead of punches — and, for once, Sanji gets the spotlight.
