Queen's Domain, a retro-fantasy action RPG from Future Friends Games, launched October 30 on Xbox Series X|S, per Xbox Wire. Players are stranded alone on the monster-filled Isle of Neasied, hunting for their missing father with a sword that doubles as a way to fly.
"This game is a labour of love from a small, passionate team," Future Friends Games senior publishing manager Cruz Segovia Ardiz wrote, in a post that doubles as a survival guide for the island.
The details
The Legendary Holy Sword Endu is the centerpiece on both fronts. Beyond swinging it, players dash with it and, with upgrades, fly across gaps to reach otherwise unreachable parts of the island, so practicing the dash is the first tip on the list.
Fights run on a stamina meter, with charge moves, weapon-specific special attacks, and throwable secondary weapons. Ardiz advises learning each enemy's attack rhythms, checking the bestiary for weaknesses, and picking the right weapon before engaging. Weapons level up individually through use, and the game also has XP-based character leveling and food that boosts stats. When a fight won't budge, the suggested fix is to backtrack, grind a weapon up, and return.
The island's world is interconnected and rewards wandering off the main path with hidden treasure and secret routes. Enemies can attack from any direction, including from above, so the guide recommends keeping a throwing weapon equipped and scanning the area before stepping into open ground.
Stuck players get a little help from the locals who didn't make it: the dead sometimes leave hints for the living. Neasied is the kind of island where the previous tourists are now the signage.
Queen's Domain joins Xbox Series X|S as a small-team release built on stamina combat, weapon-by-weapon progression, and a sword that handles both fighting and platforming.
