World of Horror's biggest update yet is out on PC, and it's free. Panstasz and publisher Ysbryd Games released version 1.2, "As Below So Above," on Steam, GOG, and itch.io, per Gematsu, adding roughly 20 percent more content to the 1-bit cosmic horror RPG. PS4 and Switch get it in 2027.
The update arrived just ahead of Halloween, which for a game about Shiokawa being devoured by eldritch gods is less a seasonal event than a Tuesday.

What comes in version 1.2?
Scenario Mode adds self-contained stories set before the main game. The first highlighted one, Forest of Fear / Tapes of Tragedy, follows Makoto, an AV club member shooting a documentary about the forest's oldest legend.
New Old Gods join the pantheon, led by Ikt-Yosis, The First Nightmare, who sleeps in a chamber beneath the mountains; waking him reshapes the world above and brings strange weather. War for Shiokawa is a new mode where four cults summon their masters at the same time.
Three playable characters join the roster, including Kiriko, a tarotist whose cards influence Shiokawa's fate, and Satoshi, a young hiker who knows the surrounding mountains. The rest of the 20 percent comes as new events, enemies, mysteries, items, spells, curses, and injuries, plus quality-of-life changes and bug fixes.
What changes for modders?
Steam Workshop support expands with more tools for creating enemies, events, and mysteries, along with more customization options.
When does it hit consoles?
The update is PC-only for now. It's due on PS4 and Switch in 2027, the same two consoles where the base game is already available.
Why it matters
