Watch

Feral Interactive is bringing Saints Row: The Third Remastered to iOS and Android on October 29, the developer announced on Tuesday. It is the latest effort to compress a chaotic, decade-old console playground into something you can run while waiting for a bus.

The mobile port will retail for $19.99 and includes the base game, co-op play, and all previously released DLC, according to Feral Interactive. For a franchise that began as a relatively grounded turf war, this third entry is widely recognized as the exact moment the Saints Row series abandoned any lingering interest in reality. Instead of fighting for local neighborhood blocks, players are dropped into the city of Steelport to battle an international crime syndicate called The Syndicate, using an arsenal that famously includes airstrikes and oversized cartoon weapons.

Pre-orders are currently open on mobile storefronts. The release marks another high-profile project for Feral Interactive, a studio that has built a reputation on translating heavy, full-scale console games into functional mobile packages.

The details

  • Release date: October 29
  • Platforms: iOS, Android
  • Price: $19.99
  • Features: Full campaign co-op, all DLC bundled

Whether modern phone processors are fully prepared for the physics of a mid-air tank battle remains to be seen, but players will get to find out next month.
