The Conjuring: Unspoken Revealed as Netflix Interactive Horror Game

Your streaming subscription is about to double as a paranormal detector, as the creators of Until Dawn spin the cinematic universe into a mobile-exclusive ghost hunt.

The short version

Netflix will launch The Conjuring: Unspoken on October 13, bringing the cinematic horror franchise to its mobile gaming tab. It is the latest attempt to turn a streaming subscription into a controller, meaning your next jump-scare will arrive right alongside your monthly billing notification.

Supermassive Games, the studio known for Until Dawn, is developing the title, according to Netflix. The project marks another branch for a movie franchise that has already produced nine films and spin-offs since its debut in 2013, proving that a successful haunting never truly stays buried.

The details

  • Release date: October 13
  • Developer: Supermassive Games
  • Platforms: Netflix mobile app (requires active subscription; no console or PC versions announced)
  • Playable character: Demonologist Francesca Noakes

How it works

Instead of a standard controller, players will navigate the haunted Red Lion Inn in England by turning their actual phone into a ghost-hunting toolkit. Netflix confirmed the game uses the mobile device to simulate an electromagnetic reader, an infrared camera, and a spirit box to track down the entities haunting the Cooper family. It is essentially a high-stakes group project where you do all the work and the ghosts provide the feedback.

The game stars demonologist Francesca Noakes, though franchise mainstays Ed and Lorraine Warren are absent from the trailer. Whether the duo will make an appearance remains unconfirmed, leaving the game to occupy a spin-off space similar to Annabelle or The Nun.

The mobile footprint

The game remains a Netflix exclusive, with no console or PC versions announced. This places it alongside Netflix's previous interactive narrative experiments like Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and Unhinged. If you want to hunt ghosts in England this October, you will need an active streaming subscription—proving that even the afterlife has a monthly fee.
