Square Enix has opened pre-orders for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth: Dear Destiny, a hardcover novel now scheduled to arrive on March 16, 2027 — pushed back from its original January 28 date, per Game Rant. The book carries a $26.99 price tag.
Written by long-time franchise scenario writer Kazushige Nojima, the story puts Aerith Gainsborough and Tifa Lockhart front and center, detailing their lives leading up to the main events of Final Fantasy 7: Tifa running Seventh Heaven while dodging the Turks' interest in Avalanche, Aerith selling flowers in Midgar. The release also packs a bonus short story covering Cloud Strife's early days as a Shinra trooper. It is a direct follow-up to Nojima's Traces of Two Pasts, which launched in Japan in 2021 before its English translation arrived in March 2023.
The new date lands the hardcover three weeks ahead of Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, the final entry in the remake trilogy, which launches April 8, 2027.
The details
That gives readers three weeks to digest the backstory before the main event arrives to soak up another hundred hours.
