A nostalgic trip back to the days of green screens and AA batteries gets a little easier as Nintendo dusts off another batch of handheld history.

Nintendo expanded its Switch Online library on July 8, adding four vintage handheld classics to its Game Boy and Game Boy Advance lineups. It is another quiet deposit into the company's vault of digital nostalgia, saving players the trouble of blowing into cartridges that have been sitting in a drawer since 1994.
The drop divides the titles between standard subscribers and those on the premium tier, Nintendo announced. While other publishers are packaging their histories into standalone releases like the Jaleco Arcade Collection Vol. 1 & 2 coming this winter, Nintendo continues to feed its past directly into its subscription ecosystem.
For the baseline subscription, Nintendo added three standard Game Boy titles: Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3, The Sword of Hope, and Fortified Zone.
Those paying for the premium Expansion Pack tier can now access Dr. Mario & Puzzle League on the Game Boy Advance app. Beyond the digital library, the update also brings a physical perk for European members: paid Nintendo Switch Online subscribers in Europe are now eligible for free standard delivery on Nintendo Store orders over £1.
The details
Retro preservation remains a major selling point for modern console subscriptions, filling the gaps between major release windows with familiar catalog titles. By pairing digital additions with physical store perks like free shipping, Nintendo is also trying to expand the utility of the subscription beyond the console itself.
