Pokémon Legends: Z-A Offers Free Spewpa Mystery Gift Until November 18

Game Freak has launched a free Spewpa distribution in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, claimable via Mystery Gift until November 18 at 5:59 p.m. PST, per Nintendo Life. The giveaway marks the October 29 launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension, proving that even a hardware upgrade cycle still comes with complimentary digital caterpillars.

The real draw is what it turns into: this Spewpa can evolve into one of 16 Vivillon wing patterns that aren't otherwise available in the Z-A base game. Every evolution also counts toward the Vivillon Challenge, a community goal of 660,000 Vivillon Points — if players collectively hit it, everyone receives a Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon.

Per ScreenRant, claiming requires an internet connection and a linked Nintendo Account but not Nintendo Switch Online; first-timers need roughly an hour of playtime before Mystery Gift unlocks under the main menu's Link Play section. The gift works on physical and digital copies of both the original release and the Switch 2 Edition, limited to one Spewpa per save file.

The details

• Distribution: Spewpa, evolving into one of 16 Vivillon patterns not found in the base game
• Deadline: November 18, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. PST (November 19, 1:59 a.m. UTC)
• Community bonus: hit 660,000 Vivillon Points and everyone gets a Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon
• Requirements: internet, linked Nintendo Account, about an hour of progress; one per save

For anyone who cleared the opening hour back at launch, redeeming takes about as long as opening the menu. Evolving it is the part that actually helps — the Poké Ball Vivillon only shows up if enough of you do.
