The announcement, detailed by THQ Nordic Head of PR Florian Emmerich, brings the long-running hack-and-slash series to Microsoft hardware following its PC Early Access run that began in August 2025. Players who place a pre-order gain 96 hours of early access starting January 15, 2027, alongside an in-game Cosmic Turtle companion.

The details

  • Release date: January 19, 2027 (Xbox Series X|S); 96-hour early access begins January 15, 2027
  • Standard Edition: $59.99 (€59.99) — Includes Cosmic Turtle companion and 96-hour early access (10% discount for original Titan Quest Xbox owners)
  • Ultimate Edition: $79.99 (€79.99) — Includes early access, turtle companion, plus immediate access to the original Titan Quest and its Ragnarök and Atlantis expansions
  • Class options: 6 launch Masteries (Earth, Storm, Warfare, Rogue, Forge, Spirit) yielding 15 hybrid class combinations

What is changing for the sequel?

Titan Quest II centers on stopping Nemesis, the Goddess of Retribution, from corrupting the Threads of Fate across a handcrafted Greek mythical setting. Mechanics-wise, the core remains tied to its signature dual-class structure: players select two Masteries out of six to create hybrid builds, such as a lightning-trap Forge and Storm warrior or a life-draining Spirit and Rogue assassin.

Attribute points spread across Might, Agility, Vigor, and Knowledge let players fine-tune builds, while skill modifiers alter move behavior—such as turning standard strikes into channeled whirlwinds. Equipment restrictions are open, allowing heroes in plate armor to wield magic staves, and build respecs are available in-game for a gold fee charged by the gods.

Combat pacing takes a deliberate turn compared to modern genre peers, relying on enemy faction combos, dodge timing, and health potions that replenish only as players deal damage. IGN Germany characterized the Early Access release as "the ARPG for everyone who finds Diablo too hectic."

How does the console version work?

The console release reflects updates added throughout the PC Early Access phase, which THQ Nordic noted involved community feedback to add regions, boss fights, loot crafting, and co-op multiplayer. Players can adjust difficulty using in-game Rituals, socket Charms and Relics into gear, and explore locations spanning sun-drenched coasts, the Arkadian Plains, the Wild Lands, and Mount Olympus.

Pre-orders are live now on the Xbox store. Standard digital purchases sit at $59.99, while the $79.99 Ultimate Edition unlocks immediate access to the Xbox port of the original Titan Quest and both of its major expansions, Ragnarök and Atlantis.

Why it matters

Titan Quest II represents a high-profile return for a franchise that helped define mid-2000s action RPGs alongside Diablo II. Bringing the sequel to Xbox Series X|S after more than a year of PC Early Access refinement gives THQ Nordic a firm console footprint in a genre where deep build customization and co-op play remain major draws.
