Bloober Team has scheduled Cronos: Lazarus for December 3, 2026, setting a $9.99 price for the story expansion, per Insider Gaming. The DLC is confirmed for PS5, with PC and Xbox Series X|S reported for day one and a Nintendo Switch 2 release to follow in the first quarter of 2027. For a survival horror title that arrived in September 2025, a $10 narrative prequel fourteen months later keeps the universe moving at speed.
The announcement came with a release date trailer, and to prime newcomers, Cronos: The New Dawn is 50% off on the PlayStation Store through November 4.
The details
Lazarus serves as a prequel to The New Dawn, casting players as the Pathfinder on the road to becoming the Warden of the base game. Isolated in the Terminal and severed from the Collective, he works to awaken a lost Essence he refuses to let fade — a mission the Collective must never uncover. The Collective's answer is the Tracker, a relentless, highly adaptive envoy engineered specifically to hunt him down, with the DLC promising fragments of the Warden's past and a choice of how far you'll go to defy the organization.
Scarred and not at full strength, the Pathfinder compensates with speed. Bloober describes a faster, more aggressive style of combat that rewards quick thinking and tactical play, built around a fresh kit:
Story DLC fourteen months after launch lets a studio test new gameplay dynamics on a smaller canvas, and the pricing does the recruiting: $9.99 for the expansion with the base game at half price lowers the entry bar for newcomers while giving finished players a reason to return. The staggered Switch 2 follow-up, if it holds, stretches that runway into 2027.
